The lads from Simple Plan are hot stuff right now. Their single “When I’m Gone” is all over radio, and their new self-titled album hits stores today. The Canadian pop-punksters will head to Australia for a promo tour next month to celebrate its release.
Simple Plan have got one of those instantly recognisable sounds, but apparently we can expect something different this time around.
“I think we all felt we needed to do something that would be a little more daring and stretch the envelope of who we are,” explained frontman Pierre Bouvier. “We were just trying to make a record that will leave a little more of a mark.”
Drummer Chuck Comeau adds that “there was sort of a realization we needed to shake things up and really take chances and just go for it. To do something that was still us but would challenge ourselves”.
Simple Plan will be in Australia for just five days (March 10-14), but Warner Music promises there will be opportunities for fans to catch up with the band. If you love Simple Plan, I suggest checking the Warner Music website regularly to see when you can see, hear, and watch the guys in Oz.
