Neil Finn’s latest musical venture is a family affair. He’s teamed up with his wife of 29 years Sharon to create Pajama Club. The idea was born over many nights spent jamming in PJs with a few good wines. Of course only brilliance can come from such laid back beginnings!
Neil and Sharon are joined in the band by Kiwi singer-songwriter Sean Donnelly and Alana Skyring, who you might remember from The Grates. They’ve laid down an album, which will be released digitally, on CD, and on vinyl in August.
Before that though, you can have a little taste with “From A Friend To a Friend,” which is available for free download from the Pajama Club website. If you like what you hear make sure you get out and see the band on their very first tour in June.

They came to Glasgow, played a small venue called OranMor, I think they should have paid the audience to stay, as a (former) fan, I have to say, I won’t be giving Neil Finn any more of my hard earned money for the dischordant rubbish he and his band played, nothing but a joke at the expense of the audience, if you planned to go and see this band, take some advice… DON’T!!!!!!!
Interesting feedback Charlie. I’ve got to say, I only heard the first single a couple of days ago and my views were a bit similar to the ones you seem to hold. REALLY different stuff, certainly not as accessible as the Crowded House material, or even that of Split Enz earlier. I’m all for artists growing, but I haven’t really warmed to this new project, at least what I’ve heard of it.
