Taking her cues from Billie Eilish and Lorde, Darcy Lane has just dropped her cool new single “Spines.” I love the contrast between the dark, brooding lyrics and the emotional release of the chorus. “Spines” sounds so current, but its emotional core is absolutely timeless.
“‘Spines’ is about falling for a friend but neither of you have enough backbone to make the first move,” Darcy admitted.
This is Darcy’s first release since her debut single “Relentless Forces” dropped in 2020. It’s certainly worth the wait.
