Frowning Clouds Play Europe

I don’t expect that Melbourne’s Frowning Clouds have long faces at the moment. Following packed out local launch shows for their single “All Night Long” and a supporting slot on Eagle & The Worm’s national tour, the band is taking flight.

The indie rockers will commence a run of European dates later this week, culminating with a slot at Spain’s Purple Weekend Festival. Europeans can see this exciting new Aussie act at the following venues.

Paul Kelly Takes A to Z Abroad

After wowing Australian audiences with his A to Z shows, Paul Kelly’s preparing to do it all over again in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

Paul will play tunes from A to Z to support the international releases of The A to Z Recordings and his book How to Make Gravy. One hundred of his most beloved works will be performed acoustically in alphabetical order across four nights in the UK. It seems Americans will need to do a bit of travelling if they want the complete A to Z experience as he’s only stopping in each city for two nights. Fans can buy individual tickets or multi-night bundles.

Paul Kelly is one of Australia’s best kept secrets, and most acclaimed singer-songwriters. I really hope plenty of international readers get out to these shows to discover for themselves just how brilliant he is.

The Sydney band have been based in London since April. They’ve set up a studio there, and are currently recording songs for a single to be released back home in October.

Guy Sebastian Plays American Shows to Support US Album Release

Guy Sebastian’s awesome fifth album Like It Like That has finally scored a US release. The album is available exclusively in Barnes & Noble stores through their Red label.

The record has a few things that should help to endear it to US fans. There’s David Ryan Harris twiddling the knobs, and John Mayer lending his guitar skills to three tracks. Not to mention the star power of Jordin Sparks on the duet “Art of Love.”

And then there’s Guy, who should win the Americans over with his charm and exceptional talent.

To help things along, Guy will play a string of shows along the West Coast next week. If you’re around these venues, make sure you drop in and catch Guy at the following shows.

Gurrumul Gets an American Release, Announces US Tour

In 2008 all of Australia fell under the spell of Gurrumul. This blind indigenous singer sang in a language most of us didn’t understand, but his warmth and passion spoke to us in way that went beyond words.

His self-titled album went platinum twice and won ARIA Awards for best independent release and best world album. Now American audiences are set to hear it, with the album scoring a US release through Dramatico Records on June 15.

Gurrumul will support the release with the following shows in North America and Europe, where he has also built a strong following. If you’re living abroad, you don’t want to miss these shows.

Crowded House have a new home, with the band leaving long-time record company EMI for Universal Music. The first release under the new deal will be the album Intriguer, which should hit stores in the middle of the year.

We’re delighted to be in the company of music-loving people who believe in us and are eager to spread the word.”
