Katie Noonan, Abby Dobson, Angie Hart, and Martha Marlow Perform Together

Katie Noonan, Abby Dobson, Angie Hart, and Martha Marlow are teaming up for a star-studded series of shows which pay tribute to their greatest musical influences. Dubbed Songs that Made Me, the concerts will see these leading Australian vocalists putting their own stamp on songs from Carole King, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Kylie Minogue, Fiona Apple, and more.

The ladies previewed the shows at Sydney’s Camelot last month, and got such a response that they couldn’t resist taking the concerts on the road.

“There is nothing I love more than sitting around with my girlfriends, talking and sharing stories. But as a musician, I find we don’t get to share the stage with other artists very often – especially female artists,” explained Katie. “I thought this would be a wonderful and unique opportunity to share the stage through story and song and hang out with cool chicks at the same time! I am very excited to share the space with these gorgeous
women whom I admire and respect, and think it will be a very special night
for the audience and us!”

Tickets are on sale now for the following shows.

28 November 2013 – Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide
30 November 2013 – Thornbury Theatre, Northcote
5 December 2013 – Factory Theatre, Sydney
14 December 2013 – Old Museum Concert Hall, Brisbane

Abby Dobson Show Cancelled, A Day on the Green Slot Announced Instead!

I’ve got bad news for Abby Dobson fans in Victoria. Her scheduled show at New Capers in Hawthorn this Saturday has been cancelled due to flood damage at the venue.

But there’s a silver lining. Abby’s just been added to the bill of Saturday’s A Day on the Green at Rochford Winery. She joins an all-Australian line-up which features Jimmy Barnes, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson, Ross Wilson, and The Badloves.

Tickets are still available for the show through Ticketmaster.

Abby Dobson Releases "Horses"

The voice of Leonardo’s Bride Abby Dobson is preparing to release “Horses,” the latest single from her debut solo album Rise Up. The track has already earned critical acclaim, placing second in the 2008 International Songwriting Competition.

Abby worked with acclaimed director Bart Borghesi (Eskimo Joe, You Am I, The Living End, Something For Kate) on the “Horses” video, which was shot at Melbourne Museum.

Abby Dobson Rises Up With Solo Release

The husky sexiness of Abby Dobson’s voice has been a delightful fixture on the Australian musical landscape for some time. She helped make “Even When I’m Sleeping,” her massive 1998 single with Leonardo’s Bride, an instant classic. Her guest spots on Paul Mac’s first solo disc were magical.

Abby’s set to wow us again with her solo debut, Rise Up. She’s worked with some in the business for the release, including old buddy Paul Mac, Josh Pyke, and 78 Saab’s Nicholai Danko.

Rise Up is in stores from October 6, but fans in Melbourne and Sydney can get a sneak peek when Abby plays a couple of very special shows next month. She’ll appear at Melbourne’s Northcote Social on September 19 and The Basement in Sydney on September 27.

In the meantime, check out the video for her new single “Shining Star.”
