Ama Impresses With “not ur fkn fan”

If you hoped for a happy ending after listening to Ama’s last single “How to Fall in Love,” I’m sorry to disappoint you. Her latest track “not ur fkn fan” was inspired by the same girl, so needless to say things didn’t go well!

While I’d hoped that the infatuation Ama captured so beautifully with her last release might blossom into something more, we would have missed out on this alt-pop belter. I love the way Ama’s emotions simmer under her delicate vocals. You can hear her frustration, and her heartache, with every line.

This song is still so fresh, but Ama’s already announced her follow-up “Sucks” will drop on August 23. Sounds like another angsty one from this Western Eora/Sydney talent. I can’t wait!

Ama Releases Fantastic New Single, “How to Fall in Love”

Ama’s giving me all the feels with her latest alt-pop track, “How to Fall in Love.” It’s such a relatable love song that perfectly expresses those heady early days of infatuation.

The lyrics are so spot on that I was impressed to read on Ama’s Instagram that it’s the first love song she ever wrote. The track also speaks to the intimacy people can develop online, because it was inspired by a girl that Ama hadn’t met in person. I’m not sure whether it worked out or not, but she got an amazing song from the experience!

Ama Releases Relatable New Bop, “Unavailable”

If you’ve ever found yourself inexplicably drawn to someone that’s emotionally unavailable, you’re going to love Ama’s new song “Unavailable.” It’s got a bit of a rock edge with all the pop vibes that made me love her last track “Car Sex.” Because if you’re going to torture yourself over someone, you at least want to have a good time singing about it, right? Whether you’re still pining over the wrong person or glad you’ve cut ties, you’ll want to turn “Unavailable” up.

Listen to Ama’s Hot New Single, “Car Sex”

Eora/Sydney artist Ama encapsulates all the uncertainty and complexity of modern connections in her gorgeous new indie-pop single “Car Sex.” The attention-grabbing title might convince you to press play, but her confessional lyrics and heartfelt vocals will convince you to put it on repeat.

“‘Car Sex’ is about a relationship that only existed within the confines of a car. I wrote it about getting too attached during a friends-with-benefits fling and all the feelings that come with a one-sided situationship,” Ama explained. “With these kinds of relationships you know what you’re getting yourself into, and yet when the inevitable downfall happens it’s like ‘woah, who could’ve seen this coming?’”

If you love acts like Olivia Rodrigo and Renee Rapp, I know you’ll adore Ama and this fabulous song.

Ama Releases Stellar Debut Single, “Love Online”

When my husband and I got together in the early noughties, online dating was a bit taboo. We were always reluctant to divulge the way we met because we wanted to avoid the judgement. Now online dating is mainstream we’re proud of being pioneers, and also thankful we did it way back when. With catfishing, cloaking, and submarining all common, is it any wonder many people want to go back to the good old days? Independent Eora/Sydney artist Ama has channelled her experiences with the apps into her debut single “Love Online.” If you’ve ever looked for love, or something like it, in the digital world, this one’s for you.

“In a nutshell, ‘Love Online’ explores the familiar struggle of online dating and the many complications associated with trying to connect with people through a screen,” Ama explained.

This is such a strong debut from Ama. It’s incredibly catchy, with a great groove and relatable lyrics. Expect big things from this local talent!
