Bec Sandrige Releases Wild New Single, “Animal”

Bec Sandridge is giving me serious retro vibes in the best possible way with her new single “Animal.” The synth-drenched track has an edgy pop sensibility with stellar vocals that skirt dangerously close to the edge.

Bec describes the track as “the only true(ish) love song I’ve ever written.”

“Occasionally I resort to sort of weaponising my emotions which this song is probably a testament of. I felt out of control in love with an ex (now partner) and I needed to be okay with that and somewhat confess that in this song.”

Bec will play a bunch of shows over the next couple of months to celebrate the release of “Animal.” Catch her at the following gigs.

11 October 2018 – 107 Projects, Sydney
12 October 2018 – UC Refectory, Canberra
19 October 2018 – Schoolhouse Studios, Collingwood
24 November 2018 – Shakafest, Gold Coast

Briscoe Ease Us Into the Week with “Animal”

Former Kid Confucius drummer Bart Denaro has moved on with his brand new outfit Briscoe. The Sydney-based six-piece are giving us a taste of their sound with the cruisy new single “Animal.”

The track doesn’t officially drop until February 16, but this film clip lets us listen to it early. It’s a gorgeous slow-burning number which is perfect for post-hangover Sundays. And there’s a cat in it, which we all know makes any internet video much cooler. “Animal” is the first cut to come from Briscoe’s debut album Friends Ago, which will hit stores in May.

If you like what you hear you can catch Briscoe on their single launch tour, which kicks off in their home town this week. See them at the following East Coast venues this month and the next.

16 February 2012 – GoodGod Small Club, Sydney (with The Ray Mann Three)
18 February 2012 – Phoenix Bar, Canberra (with Waterford and Tales In Space)
3 March 2012 – The Great Northern, Newcastle (with The Fearless Vampire Killers and The Owls)

Dash & Will Back with “Animal”

Dash & Will are back with a rip-snorting new single “Animal.” This track is the first cut from the Melbourne pop duo’s forthcoming sophomore album.

This is just the kind of tune that makes me want to hear more. My husband would describe it as “angry girl” music, which is a very good thing. It’s got delicious pop overtones which only slightly tempering the girls’ ballsy attitude.

There’s no release date for the album as yet, but this tune should help to satisfy your hunger until then. Right click on the link to download a copy of this gutsy new tune!
