Fun Lovin’ Criminals Head to Australia for Album Anniversary

Fun Lovin’ Criminals are the latest band to head Down Under for a nostalgia tour. The New Yorkers who rose to prominence with their single “Scooby Snacks” are heading our way to promote the 20 year anniversary of their album Come Find Yourself.

Huey Morgan, Brian Leiser, and Frank Benbini promise to play the album live in its entirety for the first time since its release. The album was revolutionary for the way it melded genres including rock, blues, hip hop, jazz, funk, and soul.

“Our debut album burned a path for crossing genres that we now take for granted,” Huey Morgan said in a press release. “The music is now part of our collective lexicon and we are very proud to be able to play it live and share our love of diversity which we have always, as a band, championed.”

Tickets are on sale now from Oztix for the following shows.

The Beards Celebrate 10th Anniversary with Album & Tour

When The Beards formed back in 2005, they intended to play just one show. But now a decade on, the Adelaide quartet has released four albums, earned two ARIA nominations, played sold out shows in Australia, Europe, and North America, and spearheaded a beard revolution. “When we started out, we didn’t anticipate just how much global demand there would be for songs about beards,” mused frontman Johann Beardraven. “It’s been really amazing to discover that so many other people around the world share our unwavering enthusiasm when it comes to beards.”

The ten-year retrospective album, which will be released soon, is a best of compilation including rarities packaged with a live album recorded at The Metro in Sydney earlier this year.

Something for Kate Announce Big Plans for 20th Anniversary

Hearing that Something for Kate are celebrating 20 years in the business makes me feel pretty old. Thankfully the band aren’t showing any signs of such fatigue. They’ll mark the milestone in style with the release of their entire back catalogue on vinyl, deluxe CD, and iTunes, as well as the release of a short film charting their career, a book Paper Trail doing the same, and a big national tour this July and August.

These shows are going to be something pretty special as the band plays two sets every night. The gigs will be jam-packed with delights for fans including B-sides, rarities, and of course those killer hits. The short film will play before each show, and the book will be available from the merch stands. If you can’t make it to the shows you’ll be able to buy it online.

Expect the merch stand to get pretty crowded as the band promises to stop by every night to meet fans and sign the stuff they’ve been collecting for the last two decades.
