Robbie Miller Back to His Best With “Baby”

Robbie Miller wowed me with his folky sound when he burst onto the scene in 2013. While I appreciated his exploration of electronic sounds in 2016, I’m glad to hear he’s returned to his roots for his latest single “Baby.”

“[‘Baby’] is a song about seeing someone in a room and falling for them,” Robbie explained. “And it’s a true story! It’s my story. It is exactly the kind of thing I was never okay singing about before, but now being that honest and open is something I have become much more comfortable with.”

“Baby” is our first taste of Robbie’s long-awaited debut album, due in early 2019. He recently played BIGSOUND. Hopefully it’s not too long before we see him back on stages around the country.

Congratulations to Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Rogue Traders drummer Cameron McGlinchey, who became first time parents yesterday. The engaged couple is celebrating the birth of their daughter Harper Rain Sinclair McGlinchey.

The little one was born at a private Melbourne hospital and tipped the scales at 3.22 kg.

“Natalie Bassingthwaighte is a mum,” her manager Mark Byrne confirmed last night. “Mum and daughter are both perfect.”

I’m not normally one to get clucky about such things, but I can’t wait to see whether the pair have passed on those musical genes!

If you’re one of the thousands of tweens and teens going gaga for Justin Bieber, listen up. Canada’s latest heart throb will perform a quick show during his Australian promotional tour.

Justin will perform at The Forecourt at Circular Quay’s Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney on April 26 from 6 am. He will play three songs from his My Worlds album, including the big single “Baby.”

If you can’t get there early, you probably needn’t bother showing up. With throngs of lovestruck girls expected to camp out for a glimpse of their idol, it’s going to be hard to get near the Beebs. Latecomers will be best off tuning in to Sunrise who will broadcast the performance.

A Baby Girl For Nicole and Keith

Country superstar Keith Urban and his Aussie actress wife Nicole Kidman are the proud parents of a new baby girl. Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born on Monday morning in the couple’s adopted home Nashville. She tipped the scales at 6 lb. 7.5 oz, or 3 kilos.

“We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers,” Keith said in a statement on his website. “We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today.”

I’ve got to say, I’m thrilled about the birth and so happy for our golden couple. But Sunday Rose? Am I the only one who thinks it’s one step away from Sunday Roast?

A Little Urban On The Way

There’s more happy news today with confirmation that Nicole Kidman and her Aussie country singer husband Keith Urban are expecting a child. The tabloids have speculated about Nicole’s “baby bump” for some time, but her publicist finally confirmed it today.

“Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby,” said publicist Wendy Day in an official statement. “The couple are thrilled.”

Nic has two adopted children, Connor and Isabelle, from her first marriage to Tom Cruise, but she’s made no secret of wanting her own children.

One things for certain: with parents as good looking as Keith and Nicole, this new baby is going to be absolutely gorgeous.
