Call the Shots Make Powerful Statement with “All the Same”

There was a time when every second band seemed to be doing the pop-punk thing. Most faded away, but Brisbane band Call the Shots have been steadily making music for years now, thanks to inspired songwriting like that showcased on their new single “All the Same.”

The track from their forthcoming EP delivers a powerful message about acceptance.

“I’m sick to death of hearing about how people’s skin colours or who they’re attracted to apparently affect who they are,” explained Call the Shots’ singer Josh Setterfield. “Everyone has or SHOULD have an equal chance regardless of their race or sexuality.”

Amen! Good news for fans, the forthcoming EP is part one in a trilogy, so there’ll be a lot more Call the Shots music to come in the not too distant future.

Call the Shots’ New EP Drops

The long wait is finally over for Call the Shots’ loyal fans. The Brisbane punk-rock band released their second EP, When Everything When Goes Wrong today.

It’s been two years in the making, so it’s only right that When Everything Goes Wrong is closer to a mini-album at seven tracks. It features the single “Alexis Texas” and a few tracks with guest vocals from Tony Lovato of Mest.

Call the Shots say their fans mean “nothing less than everything in the world” to them, so it’s only right that they’re taking the EP on the road. Call the Shots will support the release of When Everything Goes Wrong with the following launch shows.

21 April 2013 – The Old Museum, Brisbane
27 April 2013 – The Metro (Lair), Sydney
11 May 2013 – Fowlers Live, Adelaide
26 May 2013 – Fitzroy Town Hall, Melbourne

Call The Shots Release Fun Single

Brisbane quintet Call the Shots have served up a feel-good slice of power pop-punk with their brand new single “Alexis Texas.”

This fun track which takes a light-hearted look at unrequited love is our first taste of the band’s sophomore EP When Everything Goes Wrong. It sounds like everything is going right for these guys though. They recently made the top 10 of Dolly magazine’s hottest 100 bands and they scored the support slots for Nine Sons of Dan’s Brisbane gig at The Zoo on March 14.

If you like what you hear, it’s worth noting that Call the Shots are offering it as a free digital download via their Triple J Unearthed page.
