Cap Carter Releases Beautiful New Single, “Home”

I’ve been sitting on Cap Carter’s new single “Home” for a little while now. I received an early private stream and fell in love with this powerful guitar ballad instantly, so I’ve sat quietly biding my time waiting for it’s official release. I am so glad it’s out in the world so you can hear it.

In this raw, intimate song, Cap gives voice to a close friend’s abusive relationship. It’s an unflinching look at the physical and emotional toll of partner violence which is every bit as potent as his other releases.

Every time I hear something else from this Western Sydney-based singer-songwriter, I fall a little more in love with his music. “Home” is the latest in a line of stellar releases from this exciting new talent.

Cap Carter Takes Me To Another Place With “Worlds”

Western Sydney’s own Cap Carter wowed me in January with his powerful song “Thrill.” His latest release “Worlds” shows he has many more stories to tell.

“Worlds” has hit me in the gut, just like “Thrill” did. It’s another emotional track, where Cap’s incredible voice interplays beautifully with delicate electronic instrumentation. His voice can seemingly do anything, moving effortlessly from a low rasp to soaring falsetto.

Cap Carter is writing music that matters because it moves you. I can’t wait to wrap my ears around his next release.

Listening to Cap Carter, a Real “Thrill”

Western Sydney’s Cap Carter is bouncing back from hard times with a vengeance. In just 12 months his band broke up, he lost a friend, and he battled mental health problems. It could have broken him, but he used his struggles to fuel some powerful music. The result is “Thrill,” a powerful track recorded in the United Kingdom with Macklemore’s producer iSaintJames. Cap met the influential producer via Instagram and they bonded immediately over their mental health battles, grief, and passion for music. The song deals with many of these hard-hitting issues, but it’s also tinged with an optimism that things will get better.

“I was by myself for a long time that year. Locked myself up internally and tried to figure out what the hell was going on with life,” Cap explained. “I was angry, frustrated and tired about getting nowhere as a musician and as a person. So I did what anyone else would do, I wrote. Lost count of the bottles and I screamed every word ‘til I felt like my soul was healing. That is what my music is – a soul cleanse. A plea for some sort of tourniquet to stop the bleeding.”

“Thrill” is such an emotional song, and one that hints Cap Carter may be our next big thing. I can’t wait to hear more from this exciting local musician.
