Caravãna Sun Release New Video for “Stella” Single

Caravãna Sun have just dropped the video for their most recent single “Stella,” reminding all of us just how good this song is. This is one of those tracks that’s really grown on me since its release. I always enjoyed it, but over time I’ve come to really appreciate its upbeat vibe and deeply personal lyrics. It’s easy to miss the message when you’re grooving along, but once you tap into it listening to this song becomes so much more rewarding.

Caravãna Sun frontman Ant Beard said he was inspired to write the song after a close friend suffered a miscarriage. The song looked to celebrate the joy, excitement and positive energy this unborn life had brought to the world before their passing.

“‘Stella’ was written as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there’s always a shift that goes on inside of people. A changing of perspective or a lens on the life we’d never seen through before,” he explained. “I wanted to remind my friend that even though they’d never get the chance to hold their baby, there’d been a monumental shift in them. A light I’d never seen before; energy behind every word, that spoke with such deep empath and true authentic excitement for what this new life meant to them.”

Ant decided to keep the track a secret right up to the day the band stepped into the studio. Changing the approach brought a new spontaneous energy to the song which I think really works.

“Normally, we’d work on our parts in pre-production and be very prepared, but there was something different about this song. Some quiet voice, that wanted to put everyone on the spot and see how they’d relate and what they’d play after hearing it for the first time,” he said. “It created an energy in the studio that was beyond special and turned the song into something truly greater than the sum of its parts.”

Caravana Sun’s Ant Beard Launches Caspia

Caravana Sun bassist and vocalist Ant Beard has gone solo with a brand new musical project Caspia. His debut single under the new moniker is “Alone,” a track penned pre-pandemic but so perfect for these crazy times we’re still living in. The song’s vulnerable lyrics explore our need for human connection and a deeper understanding of ourselves.

“We knew we had to write and record this song true to its meaning,” Ant explained about his creative process with producer Joel Quartermain. “From the exposed and honest lyrics, delicate piano parts to the reckless electronic chorus, ‘Alone’ doesn’t hold back and I love that. Songwriting for me has always been the pursuit to understand myself and my relationship with the world. My passion for deep and heartfelt conversation pours out into my sound as each word falls through the piano, drifting off into some analogue synth line.”

Ant said he was influenced sonically by German composer Nils Frahm, but his music has also drawn comparisons to James Blake and Rufus du Sol. If you like any of that, I think “Alone” will be right up your alley.

Caravana Sun Delivers Pearls of Wisdom With “Charlie”

In these uncertain times, we could all use music that makes us feel good and heals our hearts. Caravana Sun has got you covered with “Charlie,” the band’s first release since Silver Linings dropped in 2018.

Good things come to those who wait though. This song is brimming with good vibes and wise words. And it’s not like the band has been sitting idly either. They’ve been busy touring Europe and were all set to clock up their 300th show abroad when this nasty virus took hold. They also recently signed to Embassy of Music, the same Berlin label as Bjork and Moby.

“This song is about reaching out, being open and connecting to people. It’s about knowing that even in your darkest times, people are there to support and love you. At times, these heavy places can seem so lonely and all it takes is an honest conversation to get you out,” explained songwriter and bassist Ant Beard. “A beer with a mate, a walk with a friend, or a simple message – you’re not alone.”

Just make sure those beers are shared remotely and you’re practicing social distancing while you walk! Seriously though, this is exactly the kind of music you need in your life right now.

Caravãna Sun and LaBrassBanda Team Up For Big Aussie Gigs

The recent gloomy weather has me thinking summer is behind us, but don’t tell Caravãna Sun or LaBrassBanda. The Sydney indie band and Germany powerhouse will spread some sunshine all around the country with their massive co-headlining tour next month.

Caravãna Sun are still riding high on the success of last year’s Silver Linings EP, which saw them play several sold out shows and enjoy featured play on Triple J, Spotify, and Apple Music.
I didn’t know much about LaBrassBanda before this morning, but I’ve been devouring their music. These guys have been streamed more than 10 million times on Spotify alone. They’ve also played all around the world, including in Zimbabwe and Siberia! With big horns and an infectious energy, they’re really something special. They sell out stadiums back in their native journey, so we’re really lucky to catch them at such intimate venues.

Caravãna Sun and LaBrassBanda became firm friends when they toured Europe together in 2017. They can’t wait to bring that connection to music lovers here in Australia.

“Touring with LaBrassBanda is a party 24/7. Every moment is filled with laughter, love and an overall celebration of life. Their live shows are some of the most dynamic and explosive events we’ve ever experienced,” Caravãna Sun said. “Gracing the stage together for the Horn Haus Tour will make for some unforgettable memories, no doubt showered in Bavarian Beer!”
