Cook up Serves Up Hot New Aussie Music Online

Trouble Juice and baked have joined forces for cook up, a new live music platform dedicated to bringing you some of the freshest new Aussie acts. The content comes thick and fast from these guys. Just a couple of days ago they dropped a video of Hachiku performing “I’ll Probably Be Asleep” at Milk! Records. This evening they’re releasing a video of Chitra performing “Better Than Before” live from Our Golden Friend HQ. You’ll see these artists and others cook up shares in the coming weeks at the Brunswick Music Festival.

There’s a lot to love here. Regular content is always good, especially right now when there’s not nearly enough live music around. They’re showcasing diverse local artists who really need a platform right now. And they’re taking the time to really explore what these artists are about. Interviews on the Instagram page complement the videos on Facebook.

Make sure you hit those follow buttons so you can keep up to date with all the great content from cook up!

Chitra Stands Up For Herself With “A Kind”

Melbourne songstress Chitra issues a brutal takedown with her latest single “A Kind.” It’s a song full of sass about having the self-confidence to realise when someone isn’t the one for you.

“A Kind’ is a song of frustration whilst being a little bit sarcastic about it,” Chitra explained. “To me, it’s a song about standing up for yourself and realizing your self worth, it’s almost cathartic to be putting it out.”

If you love Chitra’s rich haunting vocal tones as much as I do, and you live in her hometown, you’re in luck. She’ll launch the single at the Gasometer Upstairs on November 29.

Chitra Moves Me With “Better Than Before”

Prepare to feel all the feels when you press play on “Better Than Before,” the latest single from Melbourne-based chanteuse Chitra. This song has such heart and vulnerability, it made an instant impression on me.

There’s more where that came from, with Chitra releasing an EP early next year. Hear a sneak peek of the new material when Chitra plays the Our Golden Friend’s 3rd Birthday & Christmas Celebration at North Fitzroy’s Tramway Hotel on December 15.
