DL Drops Feel-Good Track “Dear Ma (Love in Return)”

Naarm/Melbourne rapper DL continues to celebrate the special women in his life with the release of “Dear Ma (Love in Return)”, a sweet salute to his mother. The track sees DL joining forces with local singer-songwriter Rowie J, whose soulful vocals provide the perfect foil for his flow.

You might remember DL dropped the track “LOVE” in 2021 to pay tribute to his wife and daughters. I love hearing him share more about the special relationships in his life. His brand of positive hip hop really goes against the grain. There’s certainly a place for rap which explores people’s challenges, but it’s wonderful to hear music like this that lifts you up to provide a bit of balance.

DL Releases Feelgood Single “Freedom” With SB90 and Jackie’s Boy

Naarm/Melbourne rapper DL has teamed up with local talent SB90, L.A. singer-songwriter Jackie’s Boy (Madonna, Chris Brown, Flo Rida), and Grammy award-winning producer Corbett (Big Sean, Anderson Paak, Nas) for his latest single “Freedom.” Inspired by COVID-19 lockdowns, this vibey track is an empowering celebration of living your best life. The R&B influence reminds me of the jams I used to listen to in the mid- to late-90s, in the best possible way.

After winning Los Angeles Film Awards and Europe Music Awards for the music video for his previous single “Lost an Angel,” DL might just break internationally. Releasing world-class singles like this should help propel him into the global spotlight.

DL and Nathaniel Spread Good Vibes With “LOVE”

Melbourne rapper DL has teamed up with Nathaniel for his latest feel-good single “LOVE.” This song is pure sunshine, with pure confessional lyrics and a hooky chorus.

“’LOVE’ is a song I wrote about a woman and the feels I got even before meeting her,” DL admitted. “There was just that something about her; and yeah, we ended up walking down the aisle together, and we’ve created two beautiful daughters since. They’ve straight up given ‘LOVE’ more than one definition. This song is celebrating all of it. I’m legitimately thrilled and so proud to share it.”

If you need something to lift you up from your midweek slump, this is it.
