Elizabeth Rose Releases Single for Marriage Equality

The marriage equality debate has reached fever pitch following the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic ruling earlier this week. Elizabeth Rose has added her voice to the conversation with her new single “Division.”

“Australia is tipped as the ‘lucky’ country, but reflecting upon what we stand for, I’m not sure that we are all that we’re cracked up to be,” she said in a press release. “Our peers fall victim to acts of discrimination and are denied the right to equality. For a country that boasts of multi-culturalism and acceptance, why aren’t we accepting of this?

Proceeds from the single’s sales will benefit Australian Marriage Equality. Now isn’t that more useful than turning your Facebook profile picture into a rainbow?

Elizabeth Rose Releases Second Single from Self-Titled EP

Elizabeth Rose’s self-titled EP is in stores now! If first single “The Good Life” didn’t get you excited about this release, then the follow-up “Sensibility” will probably do it.

I couldn’t help thinking about artists like JoJo and Aaliyah as I listened to this laidback, melodic tune, which isn’t surprising because Elizabeth Rose cites the RnB music of the late ‘90s and early naughties as one of her biggest influences.

“I grew up loving that sound,” Rose says, “and I just loved writing with that influence in mind.”

Elizabeth Rose Seeks “The Good Life”

Sydney electronic songbird Elizabeth Rose has delivered her catchiest single to date with “The Good Life”.

Sure it’s got stunning, soulful vocals and a danceable beat, but I’m most impressed by the track’s lyrics. The song speaks so beautifully about that point in your life when you’re keen to leave your parents’ nest and find your own way in the world.

Elizabeth will launch “The Good Life” at the following shows in Australia and the United States.

11 September 2013 – X & Y Bar, Brisbane
12 September 203 – Bigsound Music Glue Party @ Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane (5:30 pm)
12 September 2013 – Bigsound Showcase @ Bakery Lane, Brisbane (8 pm)
