Is anyone sick of hearing me talk about how good Gold Coast six-piece Fairchild Republic are? I fall a little more in love with them every time I hear a new track. The latest is “Tear Us Down” an anthemic slice of pop-rock that will have you wanting to buy a cigarette lighter, just so you can hold it above your head in the soaring chorus. I’m pretty sure there’s not a bad song in this talented new act.

Fairchild Republic Rock!
Fairchild Republic are proving that they’re not going anywhere with their newest single “Stay Young.” Every track I hear from this Gold Coast band is just so solid. “Stay Young” has such strong lyrics, and powerful vocals to match the world. I’m sure someone’s going to get their knickers in a twist about the wearing of a Native American headpiece in the music video, but what Fairchild Republic are doing doesn’t deserve to get caught up in political correctness. This is simply great music.
Fairchild Republic Tour Wish Upon a Paper Crane
It’s been a long time coming, but Fairchild Republic’s debut album Wish Upon a Paper Crane is almost here. The epic album, which includes the single “Villages” and the new track “Acardia,” will hit stores on August 24.
Wish Upon a Paper Crane shows a band that’s not afraid to take risks. Their sound is big and ambitious. They’re making music like an act with more years under their belt, but they see no need to wait to create an impact.
Fairchild Republic will take their album on the road with launch shows along the East Coast next month. You can catch them at the following venues.
23 August 2012 – Alhambra, Brisbane
24 August 2012 – Elsewhere, Gold Coast
31 August 2012 – The Northern Star Hotel, Newcastle
1 September 2012 – Kittens @ The Spectrum, Sydney

Fairchild Republic Unleash “Villages”
“Villages,” the debut single from Gold Coast rockers Fairchild Republic, is one of those songs that creeps underneath your skin, staying put long after it’s over. The band leaked it to Rage late last year, and it made such an impression that it ended up in the music program’s top 50 clips of the year.
And it wasn’t even released yet.
So we can expect even bigger things now that the epic “Villages” is officially dropping. It should whip us all into a frenzy before Fairchild Republic’s debut album hits record store shelves in the middle of the year. That frenzy whipping will kick off later this month when Fairchild Republic embark on an east coast tour to support the single’s release. Be there so you can say you saw them before they made it big!
