Josh Setterfield Brings New Party Anthem To CMC Rocks 2024

CMC Rocks 2024 kicks off tonight! While international acts like Lainey Wilson and Chris Young will grab the headlines, I’m music more interested in up-and-coming local talents like Josh Setterfield. He’s just released a cool new party anthem “Something That You Just Might Like” which is perfect for the occasion.

“I wrote a pretty laidback party track to get myself out of writer’s block, I played it at some shows and people went WILD for it, singing along before it had even ended,” he said. “It’s been the best response I’ve EVER had for an unreleased song and people have said it reminds them of early Florida Georgia Line vibes. Bro country revival 2024, what’s good!? Haha!”

Josh will play the tailgate stage at CMC Rocks 2024 tonight exclusively for campers before taking the event’s main stage on March 17.

Josh Setterfield Drops Smash New Single “Stay” Ahead of First Local Headlining Show

Rising country artist Josh Setterfield has impressed me time and again with his releases. His latest single “Stay” is another banger which infuses country with a hint of rock edge. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming this one for the rest of the day. It’s a serious earworm!

“Stay” comes from Josh’s EP Rise, which is full of those tracks that had me raving. If you’re already a fan like me, it’s a great reminder of just how much awesome material he’s released. And if you’re new to the party, consider this your introduction. Josh will play his first ever Aussie headline show in his hometown of Meeanjin/Brisbane at the Arcana Empress Theatre on January 13 as part of his Kinda World Tour. Tickets are on sale now from Eventbrite.

Josh Setterfield Drops “Life Ain’t So Bad” Ahead of Canadian Show

Josh Setterfield may be one of the most consistent artists in the country scene right now. He has an uncanny knack for releasing banger after banger, and his nostalgic new track “Life Ain’t So Bad” is no exception.

“This song has been a turning point for a lot of things in music for me so far,” Josh said. “Sure, it’s about going through the dark and finding the light, and writing this song has led to some of my proudest moments with other tracks.”

Not content with conquering the Australian country scene, Josh is set for world domination. He’s just played his first shows in the United Kingdom and in September he heads to Canada for the Live Laugh Love Festival in Barrie, Ontario. Before that, he’ll play the Gympie Muster on August 26.

Josh Setterfield Unleashes New Single “Nothing Like Me”

I really appreciate what Josh Setterfield is bringing to the country music scene. We’ve heard country-rock before, but rarely with this much edge and grit. His latest single “Nothing Like Me” is a self-penned banger about self-belief and determination.

“This song goes out to anyone who’s had someone take something from them, felt stepped on, belittled or been sidelined watching their hard work burn or succeed in front of them,” Josh said.

With more dates to be announced, 2023 is set to be a big year for Josh and his fans. He’s already locked in the following festivals, and you can bet there’ll be plenty more opportunities to see him before the year is through.

Josh Setterfield Releases Country Banger, “Blow Our Cover”

You know how I’ve been posting a lot of country music lately? Well here’s another one. As you press play though, you’ll soon realise “Blow Our Cover,” Josh Setterfield’s latest single, is no ordinary country tune. This one definitely pushes genre boundaries, with cool electronic, pop, and rock influences giving it mass appeal. If you don’t think you’re a country music fan, make sure you give this song a listen.

You’ll Be “Better Off” For Hearing Josh Setterfield’s Latest Single

Listening to Josh Setterfield’s new single “Better Off,” it’s hard to believe that before 2016 he was fronting a pop-punk band. These days he’s a bona fide country artist, although he does bring a little more edge to his tunes than the average country star. This track is pure feel-good fun, with a hooky chorus that should have you singing along before those final guitar chords.

“We all know something we could be better off without, whether it’s a toxic relationship, friendship, bad habit or even in 2022 … Covid! I hope this song sparks something in people to help make the change or decision they need to improve their own lives … to be better off,” Josh said.

Josh is joining Casey Barnes on plenty of shows over the next few months. If you love modern country, you won’t want to miss these shows.

Josh Setterfield Bares His Soul With “The Way God Made Me”

When I learned Aussie country artist Josh Setterfield had released a new single called “The Way God Made Me,” I expected yet another track giving thanks to the lord above. However, Josh flips the script here with his surprisingly dark, vulnerable lyrics about depression.

“They say country music is all about the truth. So I wrote the truth,” Josh explained. “’The Way God Made Me’ is about my struggle with depression and not knowing how to get out or explain it to people when they ask. I hit rock bottom one day and thought it was time to address it.”

I love the raw honesty here. Opening with just an acoustic guitar and Josh’s vocals, you can imagine you’re just listening to a guy pouring his heart out at home. Josh wrote, recorded, and self-produced the track, and that ownership really shines through. There should be more country music like this. If you agree, check out Josh live at his upcoming shows.

21 September 2019 – Sydney Harbour Cruise with Viper Creek Band (Acoustic set)
5 October 2019 – Lights On The Hill Memorial, Gatton Showgrounds
23 November 2019 – Hometown Festival, RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane

Josh Setterfield Keeps it Real With “Broke”

Often city dwellers like me struggle to relate to country music. I don’t know what it’s like to love a truck or feel the beat-your-chest patriotism of American acts. I don’t drink whisky or live in a wide open space. So it’s refreshing to hear a country song like Josh Setterfield’s new track “Broke,” an all-too-relatable tale of not having enough cash to do what you want to do. We’ve all been there!

Josh is kicking some serious goals with his music, playing major country events like the Gympie Muster and Rockin Rocky. This song actually went to number one on Australian Country Radio, but I think it deserves a little mainstream love.

Josh has a couple of gigs coming up. See him at Eaton’s Hill Hotel in Brisbane tomorrow night, May 3 or a Sydney Harbour Cruise on September 21 and help him earn a little extra coin!
