Julia Lostrom Releases Dreamy New Single, “Want It All Back”

With so much of the country in lockdown, there’s no better time to discover Julia Lostrom’s self-care anthem “Want It All Back.” Julia is a Greek-born, Zambian-raised, Melbourne-based artist with a cool, sultry vibe that I’m really digging.

“Want It All Back” reminds listeners of the importance of taking care of yourself, even when everything appears to be fine. “I hope people take whatever they need from this song,” Julia said. “If it connects to anyone sonically, lyrically or visually I’d feel extremely honoured. I write to connect to myself and process my life and if anyone resonates with it, then that’s amazing.”

Julia has plenty of new material in the pipeline, so expect to hear a lot more from her in the coming months.

Duan Collaborates With Julia Lostrom Again on “Care”

I’ve been a fan of Melbourne’s Julia Lostrom since she dropped her very cool indie-pop track “Walls” earlier this year. That track featured Melbourne producer Duan. These guys work so well that Julia’s lent her vocals to Duan’s latest release “Care.”

There’s a similar chilled jazzy vibe to these tunes, but the addition of Simba Andrews really elevates the latest release I think. I love the way their voices intertwine, driving home that message of connection and looking out for one another that is so important right now. It also sounds so fresh, I can just imagine hearing it in some ultra-cool wine or cocktail bar. Man, I miss going to bars!

Hopefully Melbourne hears some good news soon and it won’t be too long before we can see these local talents doing their thing in person.

Julia Lostrom Drops Cool Indie-Pop Bop, “Walls”

Most of us have connected with someone, yet struggled to get that relationship off the ground because the object of our affection wasn’t in the right place. Melbourne singer-songwriter Julia Lostrom explores all of the longing and frustration that comes with that in her latest single “Walls.”

Julia’s heavenly vocals are so compelling, but add in the beautiful music video and the song soars to another level. It was filmed at scenic Lake Tyrrell, in regional Victoria.

“I wanted to evoke a sense of freedom with the visuals while still maintaining a scene of romance,” Julia explained. “When I saw an image of Lake Tyrrell I knew it would be a perfect location. When the time is right, I hope this video will inspire people to go out and explore further regions of Victoria to help elevate their communities, especially after the devastating fires that have just passed.”

Julia is making the most of her time in iso, working on her upcoming EP and various other creative projects to be released later this year.
