JXCKY Celebrates Solitude With Pop Bop “Mad Invite”

Melbourne queer pop act JXCKY has just dropped his first track under TEAMWRK Records, and it’s an absolute banger. “Mad Invite” flips the script on a party snub, reminding us that a party without JXCKY isn’t a party worth having!

“The concept for Mad Invite stems from a lot of restless nights in high school where I had to watch all the popular kids create memories and feel like they could belong … and then walk into school the next day and hear all about it,” he admitted. “Growing up in that setting and still harbouring feelings of resent towards the idea of loneliness, Mad Invite is my way of sharing that story and learning to be comfortable with being by myself.”

Crank this one up loud next time you’re having a party for one and it’s bound to make you feel better!

JXCKY Gets Dark With “System” Single

Melbourne-based queer pop act JXCKY is showing off his darker side with his latest single “System.” It’s moody and brooding, with a hypnotic bassline that feels so fresh. If you’ve ever felt stuck in the wrong relationship, the lyrics of “System” should really hit home.

“System marks the first time I’m dipping into that sinister, darker side of pop-rock,” JXCKY said. “The track accentuates a growing desperation for closure and the need to cleanse one’s body free from that tight, lethal grip.”

If you love what you hear, there’s more where that came from. After being stuck in lockdown in 2020, JXCKY is ready to drop plenty of new music this year.

JXCKY Releases Romantic Pandemic Track, “Lockdown Lover”

The global pandemic hasn’t brought us a lot worth celebrating, but the creativity it’s inspired is a real silver lining. Melbourne was hit harder than most Aussie cities, but local soul singer JXCKY has turned lemons into lemonade with his latest single “Lockdown Lover.”

The track explores the idea of building emotional connections during this time when physical connections are so hard to find. It sounds like a bit of a throwback to the slow-jam glory days of the ‘90s, which is no negative at all. JXCKY’s falsetto is oh so smooth.

With a few more single releases slated for 2020’s remaining months and an album to follow next year, it sounds like we’ll be hearing a lot more from JXCKY.
