Missy Lancaster Strips It All Back for “Never In Love”

There’s no sign of fatigue showing in Missy Lancaster, who’s just released the third single from her debut album Piece of Me. “Never In Love” is a heartbreaking piano ballad about the realisation of the one-sided nature of a relationship.

“This is the most vulnerable song on the album, and I think anyone who has had their heart broken will connect with this on a very deep level,” says Missy. “This is a song I have to hold back the tears on!”

It’s a real departure for the CMC Music Awards New Australian Artist of the Year nominee, who’s previously bought us more upbeat country fare. I’ve enjoyed those songs, but this is the track that’s really blown me away. If you’re just as impressed, make sure you get out and support Missy at one of her upcoming shows.

Missy Lancaster Drops Steamy New Single “Heatwave”

Missy Lancaster’s new album Piece of Me doesn’t drop until next Friday, but you can hear a sneak peek with the release of her sexy, summery new single “Heatwave.”

This is the perfect county-pop song for the season, with sensual lyrics, a great groove, and on point lyrics from the Picton singer-songwriter.

Expect to hear a lot more from Missy this year, who is currently featured on Spotify’s Fresh Country playlist and part of the sold-out CMC Rocks Qld Festival.

Missy Lancaster Offers Taste of Album Debut With “Forget”

Aussie country songstress Missy Lancaster gets nostalgic with her new single “Forget.”

Country isn’t widely embraced in this country, but if it was I could see this song going gangbusters. It’s not surprising really though, because Missy co-wrote it with Josh Kerr, a Nashville songwriter and producer with a string of hits to his name. Missy’s spent plenty of time in Nashville over the last 12 months, perfecting her sound with the assistance of Josh Kerr and Aussie-born producer Lindsay Rimes.

“Forget” is the first single from Missy’s debut album, which is scheduled for a 2018 release.

Is Missy Lancaster the Next Taylor Swift?

I love T-Swift more than your average woman my age, but there’s a part of me that misses the wide-eyed guitar-playing, country-singing young thing that she used to be. Thankfully Australia has Missy Lancaster to fill the void.

Missy’s self-titled EP debuted at number nine on the ARIA country chart when it was released earlier this month. She also debuted at number three on the AIR albums chart. When only Courtney Barnett and Sia keep you from the top spots, you know you’re doing something right. Missy features the charming single “That’s What I’m Talking About.”

After completing a successful run of dates at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Missy will show the city slickers how it’s down at an instore tomorrow at St Mary’s Sound in St Mary’s. She’ll perform from 10:30 am before signing copies of her EP for fans.
