Neon Tetra Drop Latest Bop “Bite the Bullet”

Adelaide act Neon Tetra are back to inject a little funky fabulousness into your Friday with their fresh new single “Bite the Bullet.” Wrap your ears around that deep groove and just see if you can resist bobbing along to the beat. It drew me in from those horns and did not let go.

“’Bite The Bullet’ is an anthem of self-empowerment, encouraging people to be true to themselves in the face of adversity,” explained frontman Bill Meegan. “We all deal with insecurity in some form and It’s important to remind ourselves to not get caught up in it. Whether you’re going for a jog and need a track that’ll give you that extra push or struggling with something deeper, ‘Bite The Bullet’ has something for everyone!”

This joy of a track came out of the band’s writing and recording sessions with celebrated producer and engineer James Cecil (Architecture in Helsinki, Totally Mild) in his cabin studio in regional Victoria.

“Bite the Bullet” comes from Neon Tetra’s forthcoming EP Sweatin’ Up a Storm. Is that EP title a hint that there are more songs that will get me dancing to come? I hope so!

Neon Tetra Touring Pollen EP

Adelaide’s grooviest four-piece Neon Tetra are hitting the road to celebrate the recent release of their EP Pollen.

At just three tracks, Pollen is the kind of EP that leaves you wanting more, in the best possible way. It features the super-catchy single “The End Begins Again” along with two more tracks for your listening pleasure.

“Dan wrote a lot of tunes while listening to artists like Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes … the soul funk shines through with Josh’s gospel-like vocals lending themself passionately to the feelings of the Motown era,” the band explained. “The use of synth and strong grooves links the band’s more experimental beginnings with current pop tones of the music.”

Nothing Fishy About Neon Tetra’s New Single

Funky Adelaide outfit Neon Tetra are spreading good vibes with the release of their single “The End Begins Again.”

Taken from their forthcoming EP Pollen, “The End Begins Again” showcases the band’s commitment to feel-good music with infectious grooves. Josh Allen’s vocals seem to be able to go anywhere and that sax line is irresistible.

The music video sees Neon Tetra joining forces with Mickey Mason of Corduroy Productions.

“As soon as the music is ready, Mickey gets a first listen. Coming up with some wonderfully bizarre concepts that make the process a lot of fun. We’re big fans of his fresh produce,” the band said in the presser. “The music video is an expression of what the record is all about. Dancing, love and expressing yourself. Not taking life too seriously. The entire clip was shot on Super 8 film, creating a warming tone that ties in with the late ‘70s, early ‘80s pop feel of the release.”

Neon Tetra will celebrate the single’s release with the following shows, kicking off in their hometown this week.

5 May 2018 – Chateau Apollo, Adelaide
25 May 2018 – Elsewhere Bar, Gold Coast
26 May 2018 – Netherworld, Brisbane
27 May 2018 – The Evelyn, Melbourne (MATINEE)
