Snark Drop Rocking New Single, “Pressure”

Melbourne band Snark are here to shake up your Thursday with their latest track “Pressure.” With elements of pop-punk and indie-rock, this is one of those songs that demands to be cranked up loud.

Frontman Stefan wrote the song dealing with the pressures of Melbourne’s second lockdown last year. As someone living in New South Wales right now, it’s definitely striking a chord with me at the moment!

“I wrote the song in the middle of Melbourne’s second, seemingly never-ending lockdown, as all of life’s stresses really began to pile up and take a toll,” he explained. “I realised that without the outlet or release valve of time with friends and loved ones, I found myself crumbling. I channeled that hopelessness and frustration into this song, as well as a sense of longing for better times. I’m really hoping it can resonate with people and be as cathartic for them as it has been for me.”

Melbourne music lovers, save the date for Snark’s single launch on August 7. They’ll name the venue once they finalise the details, so make sure you give them a follow on Facebook to learn more.

“Pressure” Makes a Pop Gem For Georgia June

Sydney five-piece Georgia June is back with their new single “Pressure,” an irresistible slice of pop that speaks to anyone who’s ever felt pressured to choose a life path that wasn’t right for them.

“None of us ever want to be stuck in an office, yet I think when you’re young and trying to do music, everyone around you expects you to just be ‘realistic’ and have a backup plan of some sort,” explained the band’s eponymous frontwoman, Georgia June. “Which is why the video is set in a setting which we all are so scared of ending up in, just caving into what we should do and what’s expected. James Adams shot and edited the video, he created exactly what we had in our head and is always so on board with our ideas.”

This is such a fun track. It’s got a great retro sensibility that makes you want to reach for your hairbrush-microphone and take time for a dance break, no matter what you’re doing.

“Pressure” is set to appear on George June’s first full-length album later this year. They’ll play the Red Earth First Birthday Party at The Lady Hampshire in Camperdown on May 19.

Georgia June Drops Fab New Single “Pressure”

Prepare to grab your hairbrush and dance around the room, because Sydney indie pop-rocker quintet Georgia June have released a fantastic new track, “Pressure.” This song has the right amount of angst and retro charm.

It’s a promising sign of what came out of Georgia’s mentorship under Billboard, which saw lead singer Georgia collaborating with Joel Wittenberg (Surf Rock is Dead) and Ayad Al Adhamy in New York City.

“Pressure is about the indecision and doubt that comes with pursuing what you love,” Georgia explained. “I had just decided to go overseas after deferring my university degree and was stressed about disappointing people if things didn’t work out, or if I didn’t amount to the person I wanted to be. But when producing the track, I wanted it to be a feel good groove song that people can dance to at our shows. “

You’ll get an opportunity to dance along when Georgia June launches the single at Sydney’s Lady Hampshire on March 24.
