Pulse Mavens Release Awesome New Single “No Hard Feelings”

Fresh from winning a hefty grant through the AMP Tomorrow Fund, Sydney’s Pulse Mavens have released a brand new single “No Hard Feelings.” This killer cut was written about the struggle musicians face trying to achieve their dreams in such a tough, competitive industry.

“I had the absolute pleasure of working on No Hard Feelings with Jenna McDougall from Tonight Alive and Dave Petrovic from Electric Sun. We spent a lot of time on the song, perfecting it as I felt it was a step in the right direction for our band,” explained Pulse Mavens’ lead singer Kait Hudson.

The song comes from Pulse Mavens new EP, which will be released in the New Year. Until then, hometown fans can catch Pulse Mavens performing tomorrow night at UTS Underground.

Cupidfalls & Pulse Mavens Celebrate Spring Break

We don’t really do spring break the way the Americans do, but Perth’s pop-punk/hardcore act Cupidfalls and Sydney’s melodic hardcore band Pulse Mavens hope to get us into the spirit anyway with their double-header Spring Break tour.

These shows are sure to rock hard with twice the talent of your standard gigs. They’re also a great opportunity for fans of these bands and newcomers to their music to discover some brand new sounds. Cupidfalls are celebrating the recent release of their debut album Bay View and looking forward to giving East Coast music lovers a taste of their new sound. Pulse Mavens are fairly new to the music game, but the female-fronted outfit has been wowing fans with their debut EP Fight Back.

Catch these two exciting acts at the following shows.

28 August 2014 – Hot Damn, Sydney (18+)
30 August 2014 – Cage, Picton (All Ages – Cupidfalls only)
3 September 2014 – The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle (18+)
4 September 2014 – The Bull and Bush, Baulkham Hills (18+)
5 September 2014 – Rad Bar, Wollongong (18+)

Kait Hudson Rocks with Pulse Mavens

The punk scene is so male-dominated that I’m excited to see Kait Hudson turning the tide with her band Pulse Mavens. Don’t go thinking she’s a token female though. Her voice is angelic, but it’s got a ferocious intensity which is showcased beautifully on the Sydney band’s new single “Fight Back.”

The song also happens to be the title track of the band’s debut EP, which is available via iTunes now. But if you like what you hear, don’t just settle for listening to the digital download at home. The band’s playing a couple of shows in front of Sydney audiences in the coming weeks, and something tells me that they’ll sound even better in the flesh.

Get your skates on and see them tonight at SFX Sydney, or catch them at the Bald Faced Stag on June 22.
