Red Ink Tour “Empty Town”

Red Ink will continue their comeback efforts with a tour to celebrate the release of their new single “Empty Town.”

The release of this killer track follows the band enjoying a self-imposed hiatus. After all that time away from local crowds, no doubt Red Ink are itching to get back on stage. They warmed up with their first UK in tour in May, so no doubt they’ll be in fine form at the following shows.

9 November 2012 – The Castle, Dandenong (All Ages)
15 November 2012 – The Toff, Melbourne
16 November 2012 – ‘CATS’ @ Rocket Bar, Adelaide
30 November 2012 – Upstairs Beresford, Sydney
1 December 2012 – Rock Lily, Sydney
7 December 2012 – Can’t Say, Purple Sneakers, Melbourne

Red Ink Back with “Empty Town”

After taking some time out from the biz, Red Ink are back with gusto with their brand new single “Empty Town,” the first lifted from their new album The Colour Age.

It seems like the self-imposed hiatus was a smart move for the Melbourne band. They appear to have rediscovered their love of making music. There’s definitely passion and joy in this tune, one of many the band penned on reuniting in a secluded beach house. I appreciated Red Ink before, but this song really takes things up a notch.

It’s great to have you back lads!

Red Ink Tour Euphoria

Red Ink are preparing to tour their catchy new single “Euphoria,” our first taste of their forthcoming new single The Colour Age. They’ll play the major capitals in support of the song.

It’s such a great track, carefully crafted with a killer pop sensibility. It’s amazing to think it was originally conceived in Red Ink’s early days, and only dug out of the archives recently. Thank goodness it was! I also love the film clip, which is a moving look at the polarities of life.

If you dig the song make sure you head to iTunes or Spotify as it’s currently available as a free download. And of course get to the following shows!

3 August 2012 – CATS @ Rocket Bar, Adelaide
17 August 2012 – Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne
6 September 2012 – Cobra Kai @ Oh Hello, Brisbane
8 September 2012 – Upstairs Beresford Hotel, Sydney

Red Ink Makes an Impression

With irresistibly catchy hook-laden tunes, Red Ink has gotten under my skin. You probably haven’t heard of this rocking quartet from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, but it’s only a matter of time.

Patch from Motor Ace has produced the songs they’ve recorded thus far, and they’re going to mix the single with Tom Larkin (Young & Restless, Reptiles) in the new youth. We should hear the single on radio in February, before we get the chance to see the lads live in March and April. But you don’t have to wait that long to listen to them – just check out their MySpace to hear three songs including my favourite, “An Elaborate Plan to Run Away.”

Red Ink will clearly relish the chance to front their own show, after getting a taste for touring with the likes of The Galvatrons, Children Collide, Young & Restless, and Grinspoon.

These guys are all around 21 years of age, and they bring that youthful energy to the songs I’ve heard. They might be young, but their songs have a professionalism beyond their tender years. If this is what they sound like at this stage of their careers, the sky truly is the limit.
