Re:Enactment Release “Sport” Album Digitally

Brisbane electro act Re:Enactment are so excited to release their first album Sport, they’re giving it away.

“If you’re an impoverished music fan in a place where the only way to afford buying music is to either sell off your pet goat or sister, then I’m genuinely excited at the prospect of you not having to do that in order to own our music,” said the band’s vocalist and guitarist Jacob Hicks. He’s even prepared to give it away to yuppies, or indeed anyone who just expects a handout.

However, if you love the music and want to help Re:Enactment make more of it you can make a $10 donation to the band.

Either way, you can now download Sport from Re:Enactment’s Bandcamp page.

Re:Enactment Get it Right with “Higher Duties”

Brisbane electro-punk act Re:Enactment seem to be finding their feet with the release of their second single “Higher Duties.”

The band’s vocalist and guitarist Jacob Hicks says the song is the first the act’s recorded and been unanimously happy with.

“I think it shows off the landscape of styles we like to play around with while not turning it into a disjointed mess. The feeling that the second half of the song provides is something that I think we’ve all been trying to write together since the start.”

I’ve got to agree. I’ve seen potential in Re:Enactment before, but with “Higher Duties” it seems they’re realising it. The track comes from the band’s debut album Sport, which is scheduled to hit stores next March. If you like it make sure you head to Re:Enactment’s Bandcamp page for a free download.

Re:enactment Raise Funds for Flooded Queensland RSPCA

One thing that’s really troubled me as I’ve watched coverage of the Queensland floods over the past few weeks is the plight of our animal friends. I’ve seen images of horses and cows wading through the water, and kangaroos struggling to hop through the deluge. It’s heartbreaking.

If you care about animals as much as I do, you’ll be interested in Brisbane electro-dance punksters re:enactment, and their efforts to rebuild their home state’s flooded RSPCA headquarters.

Thankfully all the animals were evacuated from the premises, but the RSPCA desperately needs funds to rebuild their shelter so they can continue their vital good work. The RSPCA is ineligible for a share of the flood relief funds, so they rely on direct donations from you.

So point your browser to http://re-e.bandcamp.com/track/scraps and choose how much you want to donate. You’ll get a healthy dose of good karma, and a copy of re:enactment’s track “Scraps” to boot!

Re:enactment Spruik Single on East Coast Tour

Upbeat Brisbane electro rock act re:enactment are heading out on the road to promote their double A-side single “Talent for Retail,” which features the songs “Problematic” and “Nintendogs.” There’s even a bonus B-side “Don’t Even” and a live version of fan favourite “Steel Drums” to add value.

Honestly, with physical singles being on their last legs thanks to the introduction of digital downloads I’m thrilled to see a band offering so much in this format. If you are too, make sure you get out and show your support at re:enactment’s upcoming shows.
