Ryan Downey Strikes Gold Again With “No More Miracles”

Ryan Downey wowed me with his debut album Running this year. Now the Melbourne crooner got me swooning all over again with his new track “No More Miracles.” The song is a masterclass in restraint, a lesson in just how powerful a song with space to breathe can be. You don’t need slick production when you’re creating music this good.

“I’m finding the world a confusing and uneasy place right now, I don’t think I’m alone in that,” Ryan explained of the song’s inspiration. “This song is about looking for hope in what’s immediate and accessible and taking action, instead of waiting for confirmation or permission from some miraculous sign in our life/world.”

Fresh from supporting Sarah Blasko, Ryan is ready to play headliner once again at the following East Coast shows.

25 October 2018 – The Gasometer, Melbourne
27 October 2018 – New Hall, Pt Lonsdale
1 November 2018 – Golden Age Cinema, Sydney

Ryan Downey Drops New Single Ahead Of Album Release and Tour

Just a week out from the release of his debut album Running, Ryan Downey has dropped another stellar single. “1+1” is a dreamy ballad featuring guest vocals from Zoe Randall.

Zoe’s voice is lovely, but I think Ryan is the real star here. He reminds me a little of Chris Isaak, which his rich, resonant voice, but I find his music much more compelling and captivating than the American crooner’s.

I also love the clip, which again sees Ryan collaborating with filmmaker Alex Badham. It has such a simple premise, but like the song itself it draws you in and hits you right in the heart.

Ryan is set for a busy couple of months with shows supporting Sarah Blasko and his own headlining dates for the album. See him at the following venues.

Stop What You’re Doing and Listen to Ryan Downey’s “Running”

Melbourne crooner Ryan Downey has given me chills with his new single “Running.” THe track comes from Ryan’s debut album, out April 13.

It’s a beautiful slow burner, stripped back and delicate yet so powerful. Listen to those lyrics, if you’re not too mesmerised by Ryan’s beautiful baritone. It’s somewhere between Chris Isaak and Leonard Cohen, with a classic quality that’s sure to send many hearts racing.

Sydney gets a chance to get up close and personal with Ryan when he plays Golden Age Cinema this Thursday, March 8. Get your tickets at the door.
