Concrete Gold Unleash Strong New Single “Say Goodbye”

“Say Goodbye” has long been a live favourite for Concrete Gold fans, and now the Cavanbah/Byron Bay act are unleashing it on the public. This is a straight up rocker which manages to celebrate the band’s alternative rock influences while sounding fresh as a daisy.

“’Say Goodbye’ came together after I had been practicing a cover we would often play, called ‘Reptilia’ by ‘The Strokes’,” frontman Cameron Lockwood explained. “The main chorus hook of the song provides a similar rhythm and tonal characteristic used by the popular New York band. The rest of the song was then put together in a demo before finalizing the song with lyrics and structure through pre-production at Red Star Music.”

“Say Goodbye” is the second single from Concrete Gold’s debut album Burning Out, which will drop on March 23rd. They’ll launch the album at Tomcat in Meeanjin/Brisbane on March 30.

NEAV Shares Powerful Single “Say Goodbye”

Central Coast artist NEAV has wowed me with her latest single “Say Goodbye”. It’s a haunting modern pop track that reminds me of other local talents Vera Blue and Gretta Ray. I love the way NEAV’s gorgeous voice blends with the piano and beats on this one. The confessional lyrics charting the 18-year-old singer-songwriter’s personal journey are also so insightful.

“Transitioning into adulthood has been as exciting as it has been terrifying,” NEAV admitted. “During my experience of shifting in every facet of my life I’ve encountered the strange and emotional, yet therapeutic process of letting go of your past self. Say Goodbye channels this experience of the fear of the unknown, grieving our past selves and the sense of hope we cling onto to get through it and progress into a new stage in life. I have found the song to represent my feelings deeply, expressing my internal monologues melodically, lyrically and even rhythmically.”

If you love “Say Goodbye,” you won’t be waiting too long to hear more fresh music from NEAV. Her debut EP ELEGY drops on November 3.

Tommy Harris Releases Fantastic Pop Track, “Say Goodbye”

Tommy Harris has just dropped his poptastic new single “Say Goodbye,” and I can’t stop listening. Tommy’s voice has an honesty and warmth about it that’s so compelling. I also love the way he’s built on a simple acoustic guitar melody with fresh beats that drive the track along.

“‘Say Goodbye’ was actually one of those songs that just wrote itself in like a day cos the emotions and what I was feeling was hitting so hard. It’s about finding the right person at the wrong time and being forced to end things with someone really special even if neither of you want to,” Tommy explained. “The circumstances weren’t on our side and ending a connection like that when you’re only getting started is one of the hardest things to do. It’s all about having to say goodbye even though it’s the last thing you want.”

Tommy grew up near the ocean in Kulin Country/Sandringham but he recently packed up his childhood and headed for the big smoke in Eora/Sydney to focus on his music. Hopefully that means we’ll be hearing a lot more him soon.

COTERIE Give Me The Feels With “Say Goodbye”

Perth band of brothers COTERIE have totally won my heart with their latest single “Say Goodbye.” This song is so good, with quality songwriting and haunting vocals that hit me right in the heart. By the time those harmonies kicked in, I was gone.

“We wrote this in our lounge-room with Hauskey – who is absolutely brilliant – and honestly, it was just a song that fell out. It all happened in about half an hour,” admitted Tyler, the band’s lead singer and vocalist. “It’s about the humanity of everything in this life. Nothing is forever … Saying goodbye is inevitable in a fleeting world. We wrote this song with that in mind; everyone knows this feeling – we all ‘Say Goodbye’ at some point.”

COTERIE filmed the song’s video inside a bus which the brothers bought as a potential tour bus once they can hit the road again. They started restoring it at the start of the global pandemic, and through the video you can see how far they’ve come.

When they’re not renovating buses, COTERIE have been putting together a live show that’s set to blow the socks off their growing fanbase. Check them out at the following shows, which are hopefully the first announcements of many for this band.
