Sprung Makes Queensland Return

Sprung was massive when it launched in 2011, bringing Aussies the very best of local hip hop talent. During its dream run it brought fans big names like Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Illy, Seth Sentry, and 360. Then four years ago, it disappeared from the festival calendar, leaving a space that no other event really managed to feel. But there’s good news for hip hop fans. Sprung is back for 2017, bigger and better than ever.

Organisers have pulled out all the stops for Sprung’s comeback year, with Illy, Allday, Tkay Maidza, A.B. Original, Pez, Spit Syndicate and stacks more set to take the stage this October.

“We have been waiting for the right time to bring Sprung back to the people, we hit the ceiling pretty quickly when it came to headlining artists so we needed to allow the community to evolve,” organisers explained. “We are now seeing artists that were once on at midday on our stages taking to the headline spots and a whole new wave of incredible artists that we can’t wait to showcase. We think 2017 is going to be an incredible year for Sprung and hip hop as a whole…rest assured we are back for the long run and have some tricks up our sleeve for the years to come.”

Sprung hits the Parkwood Outdoor Precinct in Queensland on October 28. Tickets go on sale from the Sprung festival website and Oztix on August 24.

The Sprung Festival is a strictly 18+ event. Sorry kids!

Spit Syndicate Tour “Amazing” New Single

Spit Syndicate are continuing to ride the wave following the release of their third album Sunday Gentlemen earlier this year. The Sydney hip hop lads have just released the album’s third single, “Amazing”.

The track is a postcard from a tour which pays tribute to the intensity of the live shows and the special connection between performers and their fans.

So it’s only fitting that Spit Syndicate will celebrate the single’s release with a massive tour. This hard-working hip hop act will play plenty of shows in capital cities and regional centres, including a few under 18s and all-ages gigs. Make sure you arrive early to see a set from support act from singer-songwriter-producer Joyride, Spit Syndicate’s DJ and life coach.

Spit Syndicate Tour “Beauty in the Bricks”

In preparation for the October 5 release of their new single “Beauty in the Bricks,” Sydney hip hop duo Spit Syndicate have announced an up close and personal national tour.

“’Beauty In The Bricks’ is about an awareness of people around us getting older, many settling into monotonous routines in their lives, and the subsequent need to keep things fresh,” explained Spit Syndicate’s Lupi.

“Beauty in the Bricks” is the first single lifted from Spit Syndicate’s forthcoming third album Sunday Gentlemen, which should hit stores early next year. The song’s not even out yet but already it’s enjoying maximum rotation on Triple J. It’s only a matter of time before the other radio stations catch on to this heartfelt hip hop number.

Spit Syndicate have hand-selected their tour venues to create shows that are as intimate as their lyrics. That will mean that tickets won’t last long though, so make sure you don’t hesitate to secure yours from Oztix.
