Josh Setterfield Drops Smash New Single “Stay” Ahead of First Local Headlining Show

Rising country artist Josh Setterfield has impressed me time and again with his releases. His latest single “Stay” is another banger which infuses country with a hint of rock edge. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming this one for the rest of the day. It’s a serious earworm!

“Stay” comes from Josh’s EP Rise, which is full of those tracks that had me raving. If you’re already a fan like me, it’s a great reminder of just how much awesome material he’s released. And if you’re new to the party, consider this your introduction. Josh will play his first ever Aussie headline show in his hometown of Meeanjin/Brisbane at the Arcana Empress Theatre on January 13 as part of his Kinda World Tour. Tickets are on sale now from Eventbrite.

Turn Up SoSo’s Latest Single, “Stay”

They might claim to be “offensively average,” but there’s something about SoSo that I just can’t resist. Their latest single “STAY” is another energetic blast of goodness.

“Unfortunately I seem to be a sucker for getting involved with people who are mentally and emotionally abusive. I don’t think we in society fully appreciate the degree of mental and emotional abuse that goes on in a lot of modern relationships and we’ve kind of just come to accept and expect it – which I think is pretty tragic. ‘STAY’ is a bit like me looking back and thinking ‘Woah, what the f**k was I thinking, why would I stick around with that person?’ I think that’s pretty relatable – we’ve all been there,” explained the band’s lead singer Rhys de Burgh.

“STAY” is the third single lifted from SoSo’s sophomore EP, which will drop early next year. A national tour, taking in the capitals and regional cities, is also in the works. Until then, crank this one up.

Gunning for Allie Release Pop-Rock Bop, “Stay”

It’s been so long since I heard some good Aussie pop-rock that I’d started to think the genre had died out. If it’s on life support, Gunning for Allie are giving it mouth-to-mouth with their single “Stay.” This track is everything good pop-rock music should be: super catchy with solid vocals that compel you to sing along. It sounds so effortless that it’s surprising to hear about its long gestation.

“This song is about three years in the making; I originally started writing the track in January of 2019 when I was seeing the now ex-girlfriend the song is written about,” explained frontman Joshua Mulheran. “During our relationship, she went on a seven-month contract requiring us to do long distance. As the relationship broke down, the song came to fruition. The song started as what I thought would be a get back together song with someone I thought I’d spend my life with. Now I listen to the song fondly, knowing as a younger person, you can be so naïve in love.”

The band is no overnight success either, with Joshua and James Waters playing together since they were in grade nine of high school.

“From working side-by-side in our share house to remotely on different sides of the country, we’ve always been on the same wavelength with our love for music and the way that we approach writing a song,” added Joshua.

As a pop-rock fan from way back, I’m really looking forward to hearing more from Gunning for Allie in the new year.

“We want to share the message with our customers that just because we have to stay home, does not mean we can’t stay connected. Whether with friends or family or staying connected to your passions and hobbies, we want young Aussies to share with us what being connected truly means to them,” explained Boost Mobile’s general manager, Jason Haynes.

The Beautiful Monument Gets us Excited About New Album With Single Release

Melbourne alt-rock act The Beautiful Monument has delivered a delicious taste of their forthcoming new album with the release of their latest single “Stay.”

It’s an epic, yet deeply personal, track which reminds me a little of something we might hear from Paramore or our own Tonight Alive. It explored frontwoman Lizi Blanco’s feelings leaving home for the first time.

“If I hadn’t have moved away from my family, The Beautiful Monument wouldn’t exist. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it’s hard to understand at the time, but it all ties in and makes sense eventually,” she explained.

“Stay” comes from The Beautiful Monument’s new album I’m the Reaper, which drops on June 28.
