Sun Sap Releases Summery New Single “Walking Out the Door”

Sun Sap seem to have been soaking up the laidback vibes of their home on the New South Wales South Coast, because their new single “Walking Out the Door” has a real sun-drenched surf-rock feel to it. I’m really digging its classic retro sound.

“Walking Out the Door” is the latest cut released from Sun Sap’s forthcoming EP Sometimes, Always, Never, Maybe, due out on February 2. They’ll launch the single tomorrow night, December 9, at The Botany View in Sydney.

Sun Sap’s Dreamy Single Comes to Life

With a healthy dose of honky tonk and a cool, laid back vibe, Sun Sap’s “Miss Behind” has me anticipating warmer weather. It’s that perfect lazy summer weekend song, with classic influences given a modern twist.

The song came to the Illawarra band’s Shaun Gaida after a wacky lucid dream.

“I was eating pancakes served on the face plate of a Baldwin piano while Burt Bacharach himself sung ‘Miss Behind’ to me the whole time never breaking eye contact,” he said. Whether their take is better than Mr Bacharach’s we may never know, but you can hear Sun Sap’s version live at their upcoming shows.
