Tales in Space Release Formula Tomorrow

I thought “All Messed Up” was great fun, so I’m looking forward to hearing more from Tales in Space when they release their debut album Formula tomorrow.

The album should be just what we’d expect from the Sydney electro-pop duo. It’s bursting with imaginative, feel good gems which explore the ups and downs of love, life, and everything in between. Impressively, Formula was also recorded in Tales in Space’s own studio, although considering the lads met while studying audio engineering perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that they’ve taken the reins on this one.

Tales in Space will give Formula little time to grow on us before they support it with a national tour this July.

Tales in Space Tour “Shades” Single

Tales in Space will hit the road this week to celebrate the recent release of their ridiculously catchy single “Shades”.

This instant indie pop classic has enjoyed a great response from community radio and Triple J, and its clever animated video has also been getting a serious workout on Rage. What’s not to love though? This is the sort of track that gets underneath your skin quickly with its irresistible energy. There’s a dark side to it if you listen to the lyrics, but they’re married to so many hooks that you won’t be able to listen to “Shades” without a smile on your face.

Tales in Space are teaming up with the acclaimed Enola Fall for the following single launch shows.

17 May 2013 – The Spotted Cow, Toowoomba

Tales in Space Cover Adele

We’ve all heard Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” more times than we want to this year, but Sydney electro pop act Tales in Space have put a new spin on the hit with this cover. On one hand, you’ve got to wonder why a band is tackling a song that’s already made such an impact in 2011. However, perhaps that’s where the challenge lay.

This take is missing the emotional grit of the original, but it does bring out the tune’s great melody. If you were looking for a version you could groove to, this is it. It’s already making waves in the dance scene after being featured on the latest Ministry of Sound Uncovered disc.

What do you think of Tales in Space’s Adele cover?
