Eliza Hull & Texture Like Sun Team Up for “Used To”

Eliza Hull has teamed up with fellow Melbourne musos Texture Like Sun for her latest single “Used To,” and the results are stunning.

The way Eliza’s angelic vocals and Texture Like Sun’s more masculine tones meld is just tunning. Add layers of electronic drums, harps, and horns and you’ve got something so interesting and hypnotic.

“Used To” is our second taste of Eliza’s forthcoming debut album The Bones of Us, which is shaping up to become one of the most anticipated releases of 2015.

Texture Like Sun’s Moving Music Video

It might be a second single, but “One Great Prize” is the strongest track I’ve heard from Texture Like Sun’s self-titled EP. While I enjoyed “Bottle,” there’s such a beautiful melancholy feel to this new cut.

I must admit, I might be feeling swayed by the film clip. This black and white video is so simple, but incredibly moving. I was mesmerised by it.

Texture Like Sun’s debut EP is out now.

Texture Like Sun Tours EP with Patrick James

After more than 12 months in the studio, Melbourne’s Texture Like Sun are itching to release their debut EP to the masses. The recording features the new single “Bottle,” a cruisy number with jangling guitars and hushed vocals.

Texture Like Sun will launch their self-titled recording with three shows in the major capitals next month. They’ll take indie-folk up and comer Patrick James along for the ride. I was so impressed by Patrick’s set at Howie Day’s Sydney show earlier this year, so I recommend music lovers get to the venues early to catch his performances.
