The Plastic Attraction Releases a Smashing New Single “Shifting in Degrees”

The Plastic Attraction’s new single “Shifting in Degrees” is the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday, an energetic pop-rock song that is bound to have you dancing around your lounge room.

It’s an upbeat number but listen to those lyrics and you’ll hear the sad story of a couple realising they’ve grown apart.

“It’s a bit of a bleak story really! But strangely, we had a lot of fun writing it and messing around with harmonies and if you don’t listen to the lyrics, you’d probably swear it was a pretty happy song,” explained guitarist, Matt Nunes.

“Shifting in Degrees” comes from the Perth band’s debut EP How Far to the Moon, which is released on September 15. They’ll join forces with The Stanleys for a big double launch party at four5nine in Perth on September 16.

The Plastic Attraction Delivers Another Killer Cut

Perth band The Plastic Attraction continues its winning streak with another killer single, “No Foresight.” The follow-up to “Holding You” is an irresistible high-energy ditty which you’ll be humming for days to come.

“I’ll never forget how ‘No Foresight’ started its life,” lead singer Liam recalled in a press release. “We were at a rehearsal and Matt said he wanted to show us a new riff he’d come up with. He let loose playing what is now the chorus riff, and it was one of those moments when everyone was like ‘Yes!’ this is our next song! The track spiralled from there, with the instruments materialising very quickly”.

With the quality of their singles, hopefully it won’t be too long before we see an EP or album from these guys.

The Plastic Attraction Wows Me With “Holding You”

The Plastic Attraction has hit a home run with its debut single “Holding You.” This song from four Perth schoolyard pals is one of the catchiest tracks I’ve heard in some time. It’s your classic tale of love and heartache, with 90s pop-rock sensibilities given a 21st century update.

“’Holding You’ was born when Matt and Horna were jamming on some ideas and came up with that opening riff,” explained the band’s lead singer Liam. “The whole song stemmed from that intro section and once the drums came in, the song seemed to come together very naturally.”

The Plastic Attraction will launch “Holding You” for hometown fans at The Hen House Live at Badlands Bar in Perth on September 10.
