Tokyo Denmark Sweden Start Your Weekend Countdown

Is everyone else as excited about Friday as I am? I don’t even have any hard and fast plans, but just the thought of a couple of days kicking back has me excited. Friday calls for a party tune, and Tokyo Denmark Sweden have delivered it with their newie “Got Me All Night.”

The song was mixed by legendary British producer Mark Saunders, who put his stamp on songs from Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Erasure. “Got Me All Night” has definitely got that 80s feel about it too, which is right up my alley. Grab your hairbrush and sing along to this one.

Tokyo Denmark Sweden Impress with Turning Time

I must admit, I wasn’t the biggest Tokyo Denmark Sweden fan when they released their debut EP late last year. But I’m really impressed by the more mature sound they’re showcasing on their latest single “Turning Time”, which hits iTunes today.

The track has ethereal airy vocals, a thumping bass lines, and irresistible melodic hooks. They showed that solid dance foundation with their earlier efforts, but they’ve enjoyed a bit of polish from legendary British producer Mark Saunders. After working with The Cure, David Bowie, and Depeche Mode, this guy clearly knows his stuff.

Tokyo Denmark Sweden’s debut EP got some major buzz on American college radio. Could this be the track to earn them mainstream global success?

Tokyo Denmark Sweden Win Me Over

What a difference the right song makes. When I first heard from Tokyo Denmark Sweden, I dismissed them pretty quickly. I just couldn’t connect to their last single “Lights Off” at all. But they’ve won me over with their newie “When it Breaks.”

This is a dreamy melodic gem, with the right amount of retro charm. It’s perfect for this warm weather we’ve all been enjoying. I’m not sure a song’s made me do such a dramatic 180!

Tokyo Denmark Sweden will support the release of “When it Breaks” with a tour of the East Coast, which kicks off their hometown of Sydney tomorrow.
